Hi there! My name is Clinton Edgar, and you can call me Clint if you’d like.

I wanted to provide a little background about myself, as I believe this is important information to consider when choosing your financial professional.

I found my way to the financial services industry as a “career number 2”. In my “career number 1” I worked as a Child Welfare policy and practice expert for 15 years. About 4 of those years were as a caseworker, and 11 years were in a quality assurance/improvement role where I helped other caseworkers around Colorado improve how they worked with children and families who were involved in the Child Welfare system. Burnout is real, and I found myself looking for a different way to serve families and communities, which led me to financial planning. My primary motivator for the work I do remains to better the lives of others as it is my belief that this is how we can change the world for the better…one life, one household, one business at a time.

In preparation for career number 2, I went back to school in the evenings and obtained my Masters of Business Administration from Regis University (RU). It may sound odd, but this degree and the focus on process improvement really pairs well with my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Colorado State University (CSU). The pairing of these knowledge areas is representative of why I started Better Pockets Financial – alongside my co-founder Josh Newell – which is to help others navigate complex financial topics in a comprehensive, transparent, and fiduciary manner. When money isn’t a barrier, what amazing things can we achieve with our time and energy?

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my amazing spouse, Carla, our cockapoo dog, and extended family/friends. My interests – which are extensive – include restoring/driving classic automobiles, attending automobile collector events (such as cars-and-coffee), virtual racing, travelling domestically and internationally, listening to a diverse range of music, and experiencing other cultures. And, the mountains call to me regularly, so I’m always looking for opportunities to go fishing, hiking, camping, and exploring backroads in my 4x4. If that isn’t enough, I also volunteer with local non-profits to give back to my communities and fulfill my philanthropic goals.

Please reach out, as I would be happy to help you make a positive impact in your pocket of the world.
