Josh Newell spent years inside financial services watching the same problem repeat itself: too many people couldn't get the help they actually needed. He first saw the issue working for a large insurance company offering annuity and insurance products. He took a brief hiatus from the corporate world to earned his MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School in England. Upon returning home, Josh joined one of the largest retirement plan providers, where he improve outcomes for government and non-profit retirement plans. Good work, meaningful problems, but always inside systems that did not enable Josh to support the clients the way he thought they should be supported.
That gap is what led Josh and co-founder Clint Edgar to launch Better Pockets Financial. BPF exists for the people who care about more than a number. Josh is passionate about helping the progressives, do-gooders, and helpers who want their financial life to reflect their values, reduce their stress, and free them up to do more good in the world. He works with clients on comprehensive financial planning and investment management, with a particular focus on aligning money with purpose.
Josh is a proud "adopted native" of Colorado, having moved here in 2nd grade, it’s been the only place that has ever felt like home. He and his wife Jess are raising their daughter and son in Fort Collins, with their mighty mutt, Luna, rounding out the crew. When he can carve out free time, you'll find him in the mountains or on a golf course.
